One for all
The engine of the new VW Passat TSI EcoFuel can be operated with natural gas or gasoline. The bi-fuel high-performance engine requires a high-performance lubricant suitable for both applications. Above all, the oil has to be able to control the effects of the higher combustion temperatures typical of the operation with natural gas. Furthermore, ash-forming additives need to be reduced. For this application VW demands a Low SAPS engine oil approved according to VW 504 00/507 00.
ADDINOL offers Giga Light MV 0530 LL – a Low SAPS engine oil of SAE grade 5W-30. According to the manufacturer the fuel efficient engine oil meets all requirements of the VW-group on the operation with natural gas and gasoline. Low SAPS – which means less sulphated ash, less phosphorus and less sulphur – is one of the biggest challenges for manufacturers of lubricants and additives. High-performance lubricants are based on ash-forming metal components mainly. By their own account ADDINOL Giga light MV 0530 LL reduces ash-forming components by 50 % and contains innovative additives.
Furthermore, the engine oil is said to display low fuel consumption, long-life characteristics, very good engine cleanliness, extreme wear protection, optimum viscosity and a stable oil film at all operating temperatures. They say, ADDINOL Giga light MV 0530 LL is an all-rounder for workshops; it exceeds the requirements according to specification ACEA C3 and is approved according to VW 504 00/507 00 as well as MB-Approval 229.51 and BMW Longlife-04. Therefore, the engine oil could be used in almost all gasoline and diesel engines such as all VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, BMW and Mercedes-Benz, with only a few exceptions, and all vehicles requiring an engine oil with specification ACEA C3 according to their operating manual.
